December wrap-up

b312b7395f5aefa1ba8405b43fc71979 Well, 2021 is officially over. A part of me still does not believe that it is finally 2022. The past year really flew by for me.I read a lot, wrote a lot, and procrastinated a lot too; but overall, 2021 was a pretty good year.

When it comes to the books I read, not everything was a hit for me. I like some books more than others, which is not unusual. I’ve never met anyone who loved every single book they’ve read. For the month of December, I will admit that I didn’t do much reading as December is always a busy month for me, but I can say that it was a good month for reading.

December reads

  • Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
  • Les Trois Mousquetaires by Alexandre Dumas
  • It’s OK to be a puppy by Tom Murdoch – Check out the full review
  • To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  • The Great Gatsby by Scott F. Fitzgerald

From all of my December reads, It’s OK to be a puppy is the only one I hadn’t read before and in case you have not read my review for it, let me just tell you that I loved it. It is a wonderful Children’s book that I found on Reedsy Discovery. If you ever get the chance to read it, please let me know what your thoughts on it are.

November Wrap-up

As hard as it is to believe, November is over. It flew by so quickly for me and now December is upon us. . . but to be fair, November was a busy month for me so that probably had something to do with the fact that November felt like it lasted two seconds.

November was not a productive month when it comes to my reading, but that was no be expected as I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year for the first time and that was an experience. I really enjoyed participating in NaNoWriMo and despite how busy that kept me, I did do some reading.

November reads

  • Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
  • Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
  • The Light Over London by Julia Kelly
  • The Giver by Lois Lowry
  • Welcome Descent by Cam Wolfe
  • The Post-Apocalyptic Independent Author: A Short Story by Kyle Massa. Check out the full review.

With the exception of The Post-Apocalyptic Independent Author, this are all books that I have read before but haven’t actually reviewed. Maybe I will review them soon. . . but I cannot make any promises.

Book Favourites

Favourite Audiobooks

audiobookAudiobooks are a great way to finally finish a book while you do other things, because as much as I love reading, sometimes I just don’t have the time to sit down and grab a book. That’s one of the reasons why I enjoy audiobooks so much. I can multitask.

I’ll admit, in the past I never really bothered with audiobook but one day I got one as a gift and I was hooked. Which audiobook you might ask? The Sandman. That is the audiobook that convinced me that audiobooks were actually worth listening to and since then I’ve listened to many, many more. That doesn’t not mean that before The Sandman I had never listened to an audiobook… because I had. I just thought they were okay at best. Nothing really worth the time.

Recently I have been more selective with the audiobooks I purchase and so far everything has been entertaining but some were definitely better than others, and I definitely have some favourites. Continue reading “Favourite Audiobooks”

September Wrap-up

Halloween-readingSeptember was a busy month for me. Not only did I read more books than usual, I also listened to three audiobooks and a podcast.

Not everything was a hit for me but I certainly had a good time. I found some new gems and I also revisited some of my old time favorites of mine, and to be honest, I was really excited to listed to the podcast From Now as I had heard a lot of great things about it.
